ACADEMICS

Each choir class is a high school credit bearing course with two weight offerings. We have regular and Honors level courses. Most Honors level choirs are for junior and senior students, but you must have prior choir experience to obtain this level course. You must join in a regular credit choir before being allowed into Honors.

Choir is a great opportunity to increase your grade point average and class rank. You will earn credit for participating in rehearsals each day. Your grade will be earned by your class work ethic, attendance and participation in concerts.

Our graduates have attended the following colleges and universities.  Many receive scholarships to sing in their collegiate choirs, even if they are not music majors.

Harvard University, Duke University, Clemson University, Upstate, University of South Carolina, Western Carolina University, College of Charleston, New York University, University of North Carolina, Wofford College, Converse College, Marshall University, Claflin University, University of Tennessee, Vanderbilt University, Appalachian State University, University of Notre Dame, Furman University, Anderson University, Spartanburg Methodist College, Winthrop University.
